Fireworks through Fire.

Wow. What a sight, I urge anybody else on bonfire night (UK) to have a go at what I have just seen.
At my local bonfire at Brampton Manor I have watched the Fairs' firework display through the heat and the smoke of the fire. What a great effect, a bit like drawing a firework and then applying a Gaussian blur at 2 pixels. It made the firework particles a lot larger, slightly out of focus and gave them an extra shimmer.
Read the rest of this post.

I've also seen a new type of firework tonite. It goes up like a regular rocket, it makes a small bang to release 30 or so smaller fizzing particles. These disperse slowly at first, then gather momentum, ending up moving away from each other like fish. Any body interested in flocking behavior and particle programming would love this firework. I will have to go at re-creating the effect in flash for you to see.
